Ok, so I’ve been neglecting my blog quite a bit lately.
Neglecting it to play Sims.
I’ve recently re-installed the Sims(with its 4 other expansion packs) and have been playing it non-stop whenever i get a chance on the computer. It’s my new-found addiction.
The only reason why I’m posting is so I can have a post on January 1st 2009.
“2009.”
It has an odd ring to it. It sounds so foreign.
I didn’t exactly spend the last day of 2008 celebrating the start of yet another new year. I spent it at the airport sending my cousin off for her 6 month(possibly 1 year) internship in Switzerland.
Try to be happy I did. But sad I was, because I hate going tothe airport when it’s not me flying overseas. Seeing the tourists with their lugguages, that huge departure board with dozens of places that I’d LOVE to go to, and looking into the terminal where everyone inside is just waiting for their flight.
I hate that feeling. I really want to bang my head on a wall whenever I experience that.
Plus, on 31 December 2008, I also realised that my social circle was next to nothing.
My cousin was going to Switzerland for a year, maybe. How many people came to send her off? About 25(if not more), at my count.
If I were to go overseas for that same period of time, how many people would send me off? About 10. And that’s being hopeful.
When Angela went back to Indonesia FOR LIFE, how many people acme to send her off? 6. Yes, 6. And thats considered a lot since the initial meeting was only for 3.
The difference between having a social life and being part of a small social circle.
And I don’t really have any resolutions for 2009. The only time I remember that I even HAVE resolutions is at the start of a new year, and what good is that when the year’s already gone? Exactly.
*** I DO have a rather interesting photo to post. It was the last photo I took for year 2008 and I daresay it was worth that last shot. I shall do it some other time soon. Off to play Sims!
